The bad luck continues for Youcef Atal. Already affected by an injury at the start of the season, the defender has once again been injured against Montpellier.
Just as he seemed to be regaining top form, Youcef Atal was once again hindered by an injury. Just before the hour mark, in the 59th minute, the Algerian international full-back collapsed after a corner won by the Montpellier team.
Immediately, the concern of a new injury surfaced, given the 25-year-old player’s history (12 injuries since 2019). This concern was confirmed with his immediate exit and the entrance of Lotomba.
His coach Christophe Galtier announced that Atal suffers from a muscular lesion that will sideline him for three to four weeks. He will therefore miss at least three matches (Clermont, Metz, and Paris Saint-Germain) and could return on the 17th day against Strasbourg.
