OGC Nice: OM fully focused on a Nice player

Latest News

A player on loan to Nice this season is reportedly attracting interest from the rival club in the region.

Arriving at the end of June 2021 on a loan from AS Roma, Justin Kluivert has been a key player for OGC Nice this season. Even though he lacked consistency, the team was saved several times by the Dutchmanโ€™s talent. In total, he scored 6 goals and provided 6 assists in 31 matches. A rather good record that made the sporting management keen to permanently recruit the son of the great Patrick Kluivert. Kluivert himself had also expressed the desire to continue his adventure on the French Riviera.

Nevertheless, OGC Nice is not ready to activate the purchase option estimated at around 15 million. A few weeks ago, negotiations were conducted with AS Roma to try to find an agreement. But it seems that the discussions were not fruitful, as there has been no news for some time.

On the other hand, other clubs in Ligue 1 have turned their attention to the 23-year-old winger and would like to take advantage of the situation. OM is particularly interested in the player who was trained at Ajax Amsterdam.
In April, Nice Matin had already mentioned Marseille as a competitor to Nice. At the beginning of June, the Italian press confirmed that OM and Monaco were ready to pounce on Justin Kluivert. In the past few hours, Olympique de Marseille seems to have accelerated the negotiations. Journalists Gianluca Di Marzio and Fabrizio Romano, reliable sources during the transfer window, have both indicated that Olympique president Pablo Longoria and his new director of football Javier Ribalta met with the Roma executives in Milan.

Even though Marseille has taken the lead, OGC Nice can still hold out hope, because Kluivert is not considered a priority target. Other players in the same position are also being targeted by Marseille.

One thing is certain, Justin Kluivert will play in Ligue 1 next year. AS Roma may appear to be demanding, but it is clear that the Italian club is eager to part ways with the Dutch international.
