The prefecture of Alpes-Maritimes has limited the number of Hรฉrault supporters traveling this Sunday.
On Thursday, November 5, the prefecture of Alpes-Maritimes issued an order limiting the number of La Paillade supporters for the Nice โ Montpellier match this Sunday at 5 PM. Only 100 Montpellier supporters will be authorized to travel to the Allianz Riviera for this 13th day of Ligue 1.
The prefect of Alpes-Maritimes, Bernard Gonzalez, justified this decision by explaining that there is a โhistorical and violent rivalry between the supporters of both clubsโ, particularly since an encounter in 2018 where clashes took place.
There is no doubt that this decision to limit the risk of incidents between supporters is related to the incidents against OM last August. The Nice leaders and politicians surely want to avoid once again being targeted by the media and the disciplinary commission (three matches behind closed doors and one point deducted).
