Yesterday afternoon, OGC Nice presented the new jerseys for the 2019-2020 season to its supporters in Place Massรฉna. Combining tradition, historical colors, and modernism, the new outfits hit the mark with the fans.
New season = new outfits. Four days after resuming training, the Gym unveiled its three new outfits for the upcoming season yesterday at 7 p.m. As usual, the Riviera club organized activities (soccer tennis, penalty shootout, face painting, signing sessions) for this event at Place Massรฉna, right in front of the Gym store.
It took until 7:04 p.m. to see Myziane Maolida, Ignatius Ganago, and Danilo step out of the store and proudly wear the Aiglons’ jerseys. 7:04 p.m. was not chosen at random; itโs a little nod to the history of the Riviera club, which was created in… 1904.
A mix of tradition, history, and modernity
The home jersey worn by Maolida remains true to the tradition of red and black stripes. Notably, these stripes are thinner than last year. The shorts and socks have returned to their black color, in keeping with tradition.
The away jersey on Brazilian midfielder Danilo’s shoulders is brand new. It’s a light mottled gray with a collar in red and black. The shorts and socks are white.
Finally, the third jersey, which will be worn on a few occasions, symbolizes the first colors of the Gym before they adopted red and black.
Supporters under the spell
“They are very beautiful, very elegant. I’m going straight to buy the home jersey,” said Thomas, a young supporter of the Gym. Like Thomas, over a hundred people came to see the new jerseys.
Many queued in front of the store to purchase one, proving their success. “I really like all three, but my favorite is the blue one (third). It reminds us of our origins and itโs important not to forget them,” remarked Jean, a club subscriber for over 40 years.
A resounding success.
