This Sunday, August 7, OGC Nice will play their first match in Ligue 1 of the 2022-2023 season.
To start this new season, the Gym will host a newly-promoted team, Toulouse FC, the reigning Ligue 2 champion.
During this first official match of the season, Lucien Favre will celebrate his 76th match (37 wins, 21 draws, 18 losses) in Ligue 1 and his 100th in all competitions on the Nice bench.
On this occasion, the Swiss coach may field players recruited this week, such as Alexis Beka Beka, Kasper Schmeichel, Mattia Viti, and Aaron Ramsey. In any case, it is very likely he will set up a 4-3-3 formation.
Even though Toulouse is a promoted club, the team led by Philippe Montanier will be one of the stars of this season due to their dominance in the second division. Attention will focus in particular on two Toulouse players: the Dutchman Branco van den Boomen and the Englishman Rhys Healey (20 goals), who were respectively voted the best player and top scorer (20 goals) in Ligue 2.
