OGC NICE supports the Food Bank.

This Tuesday afternoon, Christophe Hérelle, the defender of OGC Nice and sponsor of Gym Solidaire, handed over on behalf of the club a check for €3,634 to Jean-Pierre Caron, Vice-President of the Food Bank of Alpes-Maritimes.

The event took place at the Gym’s training and development center, in the presence of Doctor Christiane Amiel, Deputy Mayor in charge of Social Affairs and Vice-President of Nice’s CCAS, as well as Marie-Louise Fénart, Coordinator of Inter Secours Nice (ISN).

It was Christophe Hérelle who handed over this check for €3,834. This amount had been collected during the Nice-Metz match on December 7th in Ligue 1 Conforama, where a €1 surcharge had been applied to the ticket price and then collected by the Club, which supplemented the final amount.

It will enable the Food Bank to purchase cans of sardines that it will redistribute to ISN member associations, which will thus be able to carry out their summer outreach to the most deprived people of Nice.

On this occasion, the defender stated, “I am very happy to hand over this check on behalf of OGC Nice to the Food Bank. We are pleased to support all these associations and their volunteers in what they do for the underprivileged. I am a father, and I know that there is more to life than just football and that it is important to contribute at our level to improving the daily lives of these people. It was truly all of OGC Nice that rallied, as, in addition to the Club, the supporters greatly contributed to the final amount.”

It should be noted that since 2011, nearly €75,000 has been donated by OGC Nice to the Food Bank and ISN associations.
