OGC Nice: The Gym honored for its civic policy

Latest News

OGC Nice learned during their Ligue 1 match against Rennes last Wednesday that the club has been awarded for its “En Route pour Los Angeles 2015” initiative. This is a new accolade for its activities in various domains beyond its professional team.

After being recognized by the FDJ Foundation, the LFP, and the UCPF last season, OGC Nice was rewarded last night at the 2014 Responsible Sport Trophies for its “En Route pour Los Angeles 2015” initiative set up with Special Olympics.

The ceremony, held on Wednesday in Paris, highlighted the Gym’s efforts among the best projects from clubs and federations working towards more responsible sports.

Engaged for two years in the “Special Olympics” program, the world’s foremost association promoting sports for people with intellectual disabilities, the Gym presented its new ambassador, Jordan Amavi, two weeks ago. Indeed, after Timothรฉe Kolodziejczak’s departure to FC Sevilla, his successor on the left flank took over the reins.

The goal for summer 2015: bring back a medal from Los Angeles, where a selection of young Azurรฉens, supervised by Gym educators, has been chosen to participate in the World Special Games. Next summer, in the United States, they will represent the city of Nice and France, dressed in red and black.
