“It was a match where we experienced all kinds of emotions. Overall, the victory is well-deserved for my players. Congratulations to them for showing this character from the first day. We were behind against the run of play at the end of the first half, but I asked them to get back into the game with play. It was a challenge to equalize, and we achieved it with brilliance. Dario had a good preparation, he came back fresh, and tonight he was rewarded with two goals. Niklas (Hult) is top-class (laughs)! He’s a great discovery, he has a high work rate, plays accurately, and defends well. We’re happy to have signed him early.”

Dario Cvitanich (OGC Nice striker, double scorer tonight):

“I am very happy to score again tonight in front of our fans. My first goal, I think, is one of the most beautiful since I’ve been wearing the OGC Nice jersey. It was important tonight (Saturday) to win this first match to gain confidence. Personally, I’ve worked a lot during the off-season, I know what I’m capable of, which is why I’ve worked accordingly. We really have players to do great things, like Niklas Hult and Valentin Eysseric, who provide a lot of good passes.”

Niklas Hult (Swedish midfielder for OGC Nice, arrived this summer):

“It was very easy to integrate into this team, everyone was very nice upon my arrival. It’s a family club, and I feel very good here. I’ve only been playing in midfield for 5 matches, but I’m getting used to it, and it’s getting better and better. I like touching many balls in midfield, I enjoy this position. Tonight the team played a very good match. We played compactly and felt strong. For a first league match in front of our fans, it’s a great victory that will give us confidence. I got goosebumps when I heard the fans chant ‘Hult! Hult! Hult’. Thank you to the fans for this welcome!”

Alain Casanova (coach of Toulouse FC):

“We can be frustrated to lose after leading 2-1 at halftime, but we have to be realistic, Nice’s victory is logical and deserved. Our match was too mediocre, especially in recovering the ball in midfield to hope for better. We are too far from our best level, we must be able to improve in all areas: managing and controlling the match, chances. Nice played with commitment and intensity, they played and caused us problems. In the end, that crazy minute (44th – 45th minute goals by Braithwaite and Ben Yedder) served no purpose.”
