With the recruitment of numerous attacking players and the arrival of Christophe Galtier, the offensive sector of the Gym has been completely overhauled. Two forwards are expected to leave the club shortly.
The signing of Andy Delort, which was made official on Friday, the return of Evann Guessand from his loan, and the arrival of Dutch recruits Stengs and Kluivert earlier in the transfer window were symbolic of an offensive revolution for OGC Nice.
Christophe Galtier announced at a press conference after the 4-0 victory against Bordeaux that two strikers will leave the club before the end of the transfer window. They are Myziane Maolida and Dan Ndoye.
The first, who has been on his way out since the start of the transfer market, had been linked with Belgium’s Anderlecht, but he is expected to join Hertha Berlin, currently 18th in the Bundesliga. The German club has just freed itself of two important attackers from their squad, as Cunha left for Atletico and Lukebakio for Wolfsburg. The French youth international striker joined the Gym in 2018 from Olympique Lyonnais for 10 million euros.
He has never managed to establish himself as an important starter due to numerous injuries and strong competition. He scored 5 goals in his 62 matches with Nice.
“Dan Ndoye should also leave us,” Christophe Galtier also announced, without specifying which club will take the Swiss youth international. According to 10 Sport, it would be AS Saint-Étienne that will secure his arrival. Despite significant playing time in preparation matches, he has been underperforming and today, the former Lille coach no longer counts on him.
The 55-year-old coach explained that with the arrival of Delort and the departure of these two players, Nice’s offensive transfer window was closed: “So it will remain Amine (Gouiri), Kasper (Dolberg), Andy (Delort), and the young Evann Guessand who will join the group as soon as he recovers.”
He also announced that the defensive sector would not change: “There will be no additional central defender. We have closed the door to certain departures in this sector.”
