For the penultimate day of the championship, OGC Nice hosts the team from Angers, already secured (9 p.m.), but still one to be wary of.
The Opponent
With 40 points in the bag, Stรฉphane Moulin’s group has definitively distanced itself from the three teams that currently round out the table (Dijon, Nancy, and Bastia). Sitting 14th in L1 (11 wins, 7 draws, 18 losses), the Black and White can pose problems for any opponent, thanks to a solid defense (Traorรฉ, Thomas, Manceau, Cissokho..), a skillful and athletic midfield (N’Doye, Santamaria, Mangani, Capelleโฆ), and quick forwards (Toko Ekambi, Bรฉrigaud, Pepe, Sunu, Diedhiouโฆ).
This observation is further evidenced by the end of the season, as in addition to the last two days of the championship, Angers has created a wonderful journey in the French Cup, where a final against Paris awaits them at the Stade de France (May 27). This is being prepared with seriousness and motivation.
The Absentees
Nice faces a cascade of withdrawals: Eysseric, Le Bihan, Ricardo, and Obbadi have joined the list of injured players this week, while Dalbert is suspended.
Stรฉphane Moulin has decided to do without Romain Thomas, Vincent Manceau, and Famara Diedhiou, who are at risk of suspension for the French Cup final if they receive a card. Thomas Mangani and Mateo Pavlovic are suspended, while Abdoulaye Bamba, with a thigh issue, is out. Yoann Andreu and Billy Ketkeophomphone are in the recovery phase.
