Like every Sunday, we look back at the latest transfer news from OGC Nice. Still active, this week the Gym has confirmed the addition of a fifth new recruit to its squad.
And make it 5! After Gabin Bernardeau, Yehvann Diouf, Juma Bah, and Isak Jansson, OGC Nice has announced the arrival of a new defender, Kojo Peprah Oppong. The young central defender (21 years old) arrives from Sweden, where he was playing in the second division with IFK Norrkรถping. The transaction amount has not been officially disclosed, although some rumors indicate that the Gym may have spent 4.5Mโฌ, bonuses included, to sign the Ghanaian.
Recruiting a central defender was a priority for the Eagles. In this sector of play, Franck Haise is deprived of Mohamed Abdelmonem, Youssouf Ndayishimiye (cruciate ligaments), and Moรฏse Bombito, who is suffering from a tibia fracture. Thus, there was an urgent need to recruit, with just a few weeks before the clash against Benfica. A creative midfielder and an offensive-minded player are expected to be the next two priorities for the red and black transfer window.
Laborde’s departure, Guessand’s turn soon?
As announced last week, Gaรซtan Laborde has left OGC Nice. One year before the end of his contract, the forward joined Saudi Arabia and Al Diriyah to take on one last career challenge. The striker could be imitated by Evann Guessand in the coming days.
The Nice revelation of the last season is reportedly moving closer to Crystal Palace, according to the English journalist Chris Wheatley. The English club is said to be near an agreement with the Ivorian international. For now, no offer has been made to Nice, but Guessand still holds an exit pass from the Cรดte dโAzur. “He is 90% headed for departure”, stated Franck Haise, regarding his situation.
On the departures side, the Gym has confirmed the loans of ‘Aliou Baldรฉ and Issiaga Camara. The two players are joining St Gallen (Switzerland) and IF Brommapojkarna (Sweden), respectively. Note that both loans include purchase options. Finally, Pablo Rosario, who was absent from the pre-season camp in Austria, is also set to depart.
