OGC Nice, its Endowment Fund, and Pierre Lees-Melou (sponsor of the program since the 2017/2018 season) have handed a check of €2,200 to each of the five beneficiary associations of the 2018-19 edition.
The operation “Children Without Pain,” launched in 2005, provides financial help and highlights local micro-associations that work in favor of hospitalized children or those suffering from debilitating illnesses.
This season, the Gym dedicated the last match against Guingamp to this cause. One symbolic euro was deducted from each ticket sold, and the amount was supplemented by the club, then increased by €1,000 by the Supporters Club (CDS). The €11,000 collected was distributed equally among five associations (“Tous avec Hugo,” “Un Avenir pour Océane,” “Une Oreille pour Ruben,” “LINARETT,” and “Petite Fleur de Lys”), awarding €2,200 each.
Sponsor of the program since the 2017-18 season, midfielder Pierre Lees-Melou handed checks to the leaders of these associations and spent some time with the children present at the heart of the Aiglons.
Once part of this program, the supported associations become part of the Rouge & Noir family. As such, the support and assistance from the Gym extend well beyond the season in which these associations were integrated into “Children Without Pain.” Since the launch of this program, nearly €300,000 has been distributed to multiple associations.
