OGC Nice lacked composure against their Monégasque neighbors on Wednesday evening at the Stade du Ray. Despite being the dominant team, Claude Puel’s men were defeated (0-1). For consolation, last season’s 13th place in Ligue 1 can boast of having reached an agreement with Ajax Amsterdam for the transfer of striker Dario Cvitanich.
OGC Nice was defeated on Wednesday by AS Monaco, at the Stade du Ray, in a friendly match (1-0). The only goal of the match, scored by Italian defender Andrea Raggi (48th minute), punished Claude Puel’s men’s lack of application.
Since his arrival on the Nice bench, the former Lyon technician has not won any pre-season match. Nice held Bordeaux to a draw (1-1), before being defeated by the French champion, Montpellier (1-2), and Monaco (0-1).
Cvitanich, it’s heating up
On the transfer market, a preliminary agreement has been reached between the OGC Nice leaders and Ajax Amsterdam for the transfer of the Argentine striker of Croatian origin, Dario Cvitanich (28 years old).
Earlier in the day, the Nice president, Jean-Pierre Rivère, mentioned having made an offer and “waiting for the response” from the legendary Dutch club. It has apparently been positive.
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, Dario Cvitanich (13 goals in 41 matches for Ajax between 2008 and 2012) will play in the red and black jersey this season.
