Abraham Guié Guié, the latest signing for OGC Nice, was presented to the press last Friday. The former Tours player has signed a 4-year contract.
The Nice supporters came with their families on this Friday morning for the last day of the holidays. While they got to see the new recruits Guié Guié and Djalo on the field, some were disappointed by the training. When Malcolm, a young supporter, asks Eric Roy, “Will they be touching the ball?”, the response from the coach of the Aiglons was unequivocal. “No, not two days after the match.”
Guié Guié with the ball at his feet won’t be for today. This annoys Loris: “If later the players don’t find themselves on the pitch, it shouldn’t be surprising.” A nice consolation, however, is the availability of the new player. Abraham Guié Guié, all smiles, is already participating in autograph sessions.
Guié Guié as a catalyst
Love-hate relationship. This nicely sums up the summer flirtation between OGCN and Abraham Guié Guié. After unsuccessful discussions earlier in the summer, Guié Guié ultimately chose Nice despite numerous offers. “My agents, my close ones, and my connections at the club (Djé Djé, Emerse Faé, Cafumba, Coulibaly) ultimately tipped the scales.” A sensible choice for both the player and the Aiglons. “We needed to strengthen the squad,” explains René Marsiglia. “His intelligence in positioning and his runs will give us new options.” The forward, involved in 20 goals with Tours last year (13 goals and 7 assists), can play at the front and on the right side.
He signed a 4-year contract despite the congestion looming in the forward positions: “I experienced competition at Tours as well. I am comfortable here and prepared. Now I want to quickly get into the rhythm.”
