Olivier Tichadou, a dream comes true in Nice

orphelinat.jpg “There is no coincidence in life” – this phrase could evoke the fate, whether fortunate or unfortunate, of everyday life surprised by an unexpected event.

The encounter between Nice Première and the young leader of a company from Nice, whose only goal was to share a part of his personal history as a holiday gift, was also unexpected.

Tomorrow evening, from 7:00 PM,
at 15 Boulevard Victor HUGO,

at the brasserie “Les Deux Palmiers”
a friendly humanitarian evening will take place.

Nice Première: Olivier, can you explain the purpose of this evening?

Olivier Tichadou: The purpose of this evening is to gather as many people as possible to introduce an association that owns an orphanage in Burkina Faso. And, of course, to raise funds to support the operations that are taking place there.

NP: What will be the proceedings?

OT: I will welcome the invited guests and introduce them to Dr. Buffet, who is in charge of this association. A film about the visit to the orphanage will be shown, displaying the humanitarian operations conducted there. We will answer questions from the attendees, followed by a friendly cocktail dinner.

NP: Who are you expecting?

OT: Well, I have invited all the trades related to my agency and with whom I work throughout the year. There will be painters, masons, bailiffs, notaries, travel agents, all our partners. The philosophy of this initiative was:
“Let’s take 5 minutes from our industrial world to think of others, we are here to produce, work, but not just that. Being human also involves this. Reaching out is a simple gesture.”

These are people I interact with all year round, so this was also an opportunity to take a break from our professional activity.

NP: Is it open to the public?

OT: Yes of course, it takes place at “Aux Deux Palmiers” 15 Boulevard Victor Hugo. The owners are friends and when I told them about my project they said,
“Olivier, we’re not going to write you a check but we’ll offer the cocktail.”

A community of interest for the benefit of the children and others was born. It might even expand.

NP: How did you come to know this association and its activities?

OT: I have been in the process of adoption for some time. When we organized an evening to watch the Nice Nancy league cup final, I had the chance to meet Dr. Buffet, we discussed our case and he told me that he owned an orphanage.

I saw this opportunity as a sign of life and I thought that I couldn’t just stand by doing nothing. I had to give back to life what it had given me.

NP: What do you hope to achieve from this evening?

OT: The goal is to raise enough funds to buy a 4×4 so that the children can travel by car instead of by cart.

Remembering that humans are on earth for everything, to work, produce, etc., but also for human, for these simple and altruistic acts. Also thinking that we easily throw away a pen when we don’t like it anymore, but some don’t even have one to write with.

NP: Will you organize other evenings throughout the year?

OT: If I have the opportunity, yes!!!
