In 2006, the Grimaldi Forum switches to New York time, featuring the most spectacular musical in the history of rock’n’roll, Grease. It will be on the bill for only seven performances between July 25 and 30, as part of the exhibition “New York, New York – Fifty years of art, architecture, photography, film, and video.”
Animated by the pop culture of the 1950s, Grease brings together all the unforgettable songs from the cult film including “Summer Nights,” “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” “Sandy,” “You’re The One That I Want,” “Greased Lightnin’,” and “Grease is the Word.” You can join the irresistible Danny Zuko and Sandy Dumbrowski (immortalized on screen by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John), along with the popular T-Birds, the sassy Pink Ladies, and the whole gang from Rydell High for this great Rock’n’roll show.
The festivities will begin as early as May 4 at Karément, the funky tapas bar of the Grimaldi Forum, with a night themed around Grease. Decor, entertainment, and of course rock’n’roll will be the highlights of this unforgettable night where you will be plunged, in a preview, into the “black jacket, pomade, and fifties look” atmosphere of the musical that is currently touring in Great Britain.
