One step closer to autonomy with the new optoelectronic cane

The association “Les Chiens Guides d’Aveugles de Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Corse” is launching the 6th Guide Dog Week, which will be held until September 24th.

The aim is to raise awareness among the general public and visually impaired individuals about the role of this life companion and its contribution to daily life. The association’s mission is to improve the autonomy and mobility of blind or visually impaired people through various actions, including the education and free provision of guide dogs.

The association has signed a partnership agreement with the ACBO d’Alès Doyen to promote the use of the electronic cane, particularly in the Southeast region. The electronic cane is a mobility aid that prevents “cane collisions” by anticipating the pathway. It enhances the perception and understanding of the environment.

The concepts of distance and depth thus become accessible to visually impaired people. This cane provides safety, ease, and comfort in movement, helping achieve a smooth and natural gait.
