One year after its opening, ICONIC is settling into the Nice landscape.

On July 15, 2024, after several years of construction, ICONIC was born. This building, nicknamed “the diamond” because of its structure and brilliant character, celebrates its first year of operation. Designed as a multifunctional living space, it is part of the transformation of the Thiers train station district. Here’s a look back at the initial results and future prospects.

Opened just a year ago, on July 15, 2024, the ICONIC complex was developed by the Compagnie de Phalsbourg. Located opposite the Thiers train station, it brings together eight types of activities over 20,000 mยฒ: retail, food service, hotel, offices, education, sports, culture, and events.

In its first year, the site has welcomed over three million visitors. Its landscaped and secured promenade attracts both locals and tourists, whether it’s for its fast and varied food service or its shops and other leisure spaces.

The Hilton hotel frequently reaches full occupancy. It targets a mixed clientele: tourism, business, and events. An extension project is planned, with an additional 17 rooms, bringing the total capacity to 122 rooms.

In the education sector, three institutions (AURLOM, Competences and Development, and Scholae school) host nearly 1,000 students. This educational offering complements the building’s hybrid purpose.

The Metropolitan Sport Club & Spa gym, spanning 2,500 mยฒ, also experiences good attendance. It combines fitness facilities with panoramic views of the city.

The retail space is 100% occupied. Among the brands present are Uniqlo, Monoprix, Starbucks, Five Guys, Kayser, Street Bangkok, Bagelstein, Amorino, and Foca.

A year of constant evolution

ICONIC needs to continue its growth. In 2026, a 1,000-seat performance hall will open its doors. Concerts, immersive formats, and shows will be offered. A seminar room will complement the whole, in connection with the hotel offering.

Every week, events are organized, notably Friday night DJ sets on the forecourt. These activities help create a lively atmosphere and enhance the attractiveness of the place.

For Philippe Journo, president-founder of the Compagnie de Phalsbourg, Iconic “has successfully transformed the face of the Thiers train station district” and aligns with the city’s modernization.

Initially conceived as an open space integrated into the urban dynamic, ICONIC contributes to redefining the city center. Its development shows that a real estate project can blend retail, culture, and services within one unit. The future will depend on its ability to sustainably anchor itself in the habits of residents and visitors.
