At the beginning of this year, Olympique Nice Natation wanted to reward its athletes and coaches at its Trophรฉe des Champions, held this Thursday at the Jean Bouin Pool.
About 200 members of ONN were honored for their performances during the 2016/2017 season.
First, there was a tribute moment with a minute of applause in honor of Corentin Buteau, a swimmer from the club, who tragically passed away a few days ago at the age of 19.
This was followed by the traditional wishes from the president of Olympique Nice Natation, Jean Monnot, who wished “health, happiness, and success” to everyone. He also thanked ONN’s partners, as well as the city of Nice and the department.
Next came the long-awaited moment for the members of ONN. Those who help the club thrive and shine on the international stage, as well as the young ones who may become accomplished athletes in the future.
Among the most well-known names, we found Charlotte Bonnet (8th at the world championships in Budapest in the 200 m freestyle and gold medalist at the European championships in the same category) and Jรฉrรฉmy Desplanches (8th at the world championships in Budapest in the 200 m individual medley).
Their coach, Fabrice Pellerin, along with Maxime Leutenegger, another coach of the structure, were recognized.
Additionally, the women’s water polo team (3rd in Pro A) and the men’s team (semi-finalist in Pro A) were honored.
