Certainly!
While waiting for the big day – when we can finally buy a travel ticket – the inaugurations and visits to the construction site of line 2 (west-east) continue.
This weekend, the 1800 residents of Nice who have registered will be able to visit the tunnel that connects the Alsace-Lorraine station to Rue de France on the occasion of two open house days.
The wish of Christian Estrosi is for them to take ownership of a project that will change the city’s mobility and the way many of them travel – 140,000 passengers per day are expected when the line is fully operational.
This will also be an opportunity to understand the complexity of building such an underground project (specialists will accompany visitors during this visit) and perhaps silence the criticism and controversies that have accompanied it.
A few weeks before the inauguration of the first part of the line (Cadam-Magnan), which is confirmed for June 30th, the project managers are already looking at the next steps that must adhere to a tight schedule, which has been enriched by the construction of line 3 (Saint-Isidore).
All of this leads us to December 2019, when trains will run on all lines, and Christian Estrosi will be able to leverage this for his electoral campaign for the municipal elections in 2020.
Given the commitment he has put into this project, it will be the least of things!
