Latest News

Ciné Récré is a unique event in France. It is organized by the City of Nice together with the operators of all the movie theaters in Nice (Cinémathèque, Mercury, Pathé Lingostière, Pathé Masséna, Rialto, and Variétés).

To give children a preview of what will be offered to them during the 6th edition of Ciné Récré* starting November 15, the city of Nice is organizing for school students, on Thursday 13 and Friday 14 November, three “cine-concert” sessions titled “Cartoon Circus.”

Nearly 1,500 students will attend this musical, whimsical, and surreal show set in the world of cartoons from the 1920s to 1930s.

An orchestra composed of two musicians, Roberto Tricarri (composition, artistic direction, accordion, voice, percussion) and Jean Mach (accordion, keyboard, alto and tenor saxophone, clarinet, tuba, trumpet, flute, melodica, voice, percussion) will musically illustrate the cartoons!

A cheerful, tender, and dazzling music performed by two astonishing accordionists and multi-instrumentalists. At the end of the screening, children are invited to interact with them and share their impressions of the show.

Cartoon Circus was created by “Cinémusiques,” an association specializing since 1986 in silent film concerts. “Cinémusiques” has recognized experience in organizing this type of event, with over 1,500 performances in France and abroad across 25 countries.
