The Mediterranean University Center will host the 2nd edition of the National Youth Assembly in Nice this Friday, with the presence of Marine Brenier, Deputy of Alpes-Maritimes, and Marie-Hélène Aubry, Deputy Academy Inspector and Academic Director of National Education Services of Alpes-Maritimes.

More than 250 students from middle schools (Don Bosco, Yves Klein, Vernier) and high schools (Parc Impérial, Valbonne) will gather to debate draft laws, previously examined in committee.

Participating in a simulation of a National Assembly session is a unique opportunity for young people to better understand the functioning of this institution of the Fifth Republic. This day of debate will allow them to discover the principles of democracy and grasp the importance of their future role as citizens.

In this extensive role-playing game, the young participants will take on the role of a deputy, an elected representative of a constituency, associated with a political party and a parliamentary group, affiliated with a permanent parliamentary committee.

The young participants will propose and defend the following draft laws:

– School rhythms (Cultural Affairs and Education Committee),
– Mandatory vaccines (Social Affairs Committee),
– Protection of citizens against terrorism (Defense Committee),
– Industrial farming (Sustainable Development Committee),
– Mandatory voting (Laws Committee).
