Last weekend marked the opening of the exhibition, “Nature in All Its States.” Four photographers, at the heart of nature. An event at Phoenix Park, in the presence of the artists and Marc Concas, a municipal councilor from Nice.
Nature has taken center stage in the Prairial exhibition hall at Phoenix Park. Landscapes, wild animals, or insects, visitors find themselves immersed in the heart of the planet. An exhibition with four different photographic series, but with the same theme: nature. This Saturday afternoon, the photographers were present at the opening to talk to us about their work and their expeditions. Thibault Andrieux, Nicolas Cegalerba, Jean-Joaquim Crassous, and Emmanuel Juppeaux all belong to the collective Esprit Nature, “4 photographers, 4 perspectives”.
- Emmanuel Juppeaux
Passionate about image, travel, and nature, he gradually made it his professional activity. For this exhibition, he presents the series “Encounter with the Spirits”, about fifteen images centered around the Kermode bear, taken on Gribbell Island in western Canada. “One of the peculiarities is that these are the rarest bears on the planet, with about 400 in the world,” comments Emmanuel Juppeaux.
- Jean-Joaquim Crassous
A lover of travel, the photographer feels the need to regularly “reconnect with nature and its elements,” he explains. It is thus a series of landscapes “The Edge of the Worlds” around the Mercantour National Park, Iceland, and the Dolomites in Italy.
- Nicolas Cegalerba
Specializing in travel and nature reporting, the photographer presents his series “Up Close with the Dragons”. For three weeks, Nicolas Cegalerba followed a team of scientists in the Komodo National Park in Indonesia, to take pictures up close of the “dragon, the largest lizard in the world.”
- Thibault Andrieux
A research engineer at Bioline France, specializing in mites, the photographer offers with his series “Empus Art” an insight into the world of insects, with very close-up shots. Different images of the insect empuse are thus showcased.
The Esprit Nature Collective
Esprit Nature is a collective that brings together these four photographers. “It is the meeting of four people around the same common passion: nature photography,” emphasizes Emmanuel Juppeaux. For a while now, they have wanted to exhibit in schools to raise awareness. In La Roquette-sur-Var, several of their photographs have been displayed in the school.
