The famous American restaurant chain Starbucks is introducing a new store on Rue Masséna, right in the heart of Nice.
For the past few weeks, the chain’s logo has been displayed in one of the main arcades of downtown Nice, much to the delight of many shopkeepers. This is not the first Starbucks established in the capital of the French Riviera; the chain is already present in many strategic locations in the city, such as Avenue Jean Médecin, Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, and the Libération district.
The inauguration of a new café on Rue Masséna is no coincidence. It is the result of an effort to bring more dynamism to this street. The store owners are thrilled and say on the subject, “No direct competition, but rather an appeal for this neglected street.” For now, the construction is still underway, with the opening scheduled for June 15th. The people of Nice will have to be patient a little longer before they can enjoy their first snack!
