Monday, January 9, 2012, at 7 PM at the Regional Conservatory of Nice (CNRR), 127 Brancolar Avenue – Nice
Music of all kinds, dance, theater… the large Joseph Kosma auditorium at the Regional Conservatory of the City of Nice invites you to discover its artistic program for the season from January to July 2012.
It will commence on Monday, January 9, at 7 PM, with a chamber music concert by “Ballade en trio,” as part of the now prestigious Kosma evenings.
Rich, demanding, educational, and eclectic, the program offers nearly sixty concert or show dates intended for all audiences, most of which are FREE to enter.
Among the highlights of the Conservatory’s agenda is the show “CHAOS don’t smile, we’re watching you” by Compagnie Le Sixièmétage, which will combine dance, theater, and video (Friday, January 13 at 7:30 PM) and the charity evening that will bring together the five members of the Galliano family for a concert benefiting the LAFARESIDO association, which has been organizing concerts in medical institutions in the Alpes-Maritimes for five years (Saturday, January 28 at 8 PM).
The month of February will be marked by the energy of the Luxembourg National Jazz Orchestra (Monday, February 6 at 7 PM), the generosity of the Nice-based band Quadricolor, whose talent is praised on the major stages of French rock (Monday, February 13 at 7 PM), and a tribute to Early Music, to which the Conservatory will dedicate 5 days (from February 20 to 24).
Also to follow is the performance of Kenny Garrett, a legendary figure of modern jazz, the last alto saxophonist to play alongside Miles Davis, who will enchant you with his improvisational strength and Afro-American melodies (Thursday, March 15 at 9 PM, paid entrance), the exceptional concert of 80 clarinetists around Philippe Berrod on March 17 at 3 PM. March will conclude with a week dedicated to the underappreciated art of accompaniment and an evening of music and theater around the work of Pagnol.
Other unmissable events include the Dance Days in April and the exceptional concert of the NJO gathered in a big band, an Azurian group crowned REVELATION 2011 by JAZZ MAG (Monday, April 16 at 7 PM).
