Theatre of Photography and Image – Nice
-In the presence of Gerd Sander, grandson of August Sander.
-August Sander is among the great photographers of the 20th century, whose influence on many contemporary photographers and artists remains very present today.
“The nature of photography as a whole is documentary,” he declared in 1931 during one of his radio conferences. This statement would remain at the heart of his work philosophy throughout his career.
Around these three themes: portraits, landscapes, and architecture, the exhibition will feature 120 images, some of which are vintage prints, offering visitors a representative panorama of the artistic work of this great photographer. It constitutes an exceptional collection that we are pleased to present for the first time to the region’s public.
