François Paris, director of CIRM and organizer of this event, shares his thoughts: “Welcome to this 33rd edition of the MANCA festival ‘Stories.’”
“Music has always told stories. More importantly, it is the ever-changing story of each of our unique interpretations and their journeys that guarantee the richness of a work. Understanding that if today is the consequence of yesterday, yesterday can, and should, also be illuminated by today to better reflect on tomorrow. Questioning the stories, understanding and feeling the roots that today’s works carry, as well as contributing to the creation of new narratives, is the major concern of the MANCA festival.”
Thus, everyone tells stories, and we just need to acclimate to these new types of narration: they tell a part of the world in which we live.”
