Operation 1 Million Trees for the South Region: the First Plantations on the Banks of the Paillon in L’Ariane

Latest News

The City of Nice, through its ambitious Greening Plan, continues to reshape the historic “garden city” of the Consiglio d’Ornato in order to bring nature back to the city center.

This action plan is accompanied by structuring projects, among which is the planting of 150 new trees on the banks of the Paillon to transform this area into a Mediterranean forest! This operation is part of the regional project of planting “1 million trees for the South region by 2021.”

It involves 150 new species that will populate a future forest of Mediterranean trees along the banks of the Paillon. This area will become a wooded and shaded promenade, as well as an additional green lung, thanks to resilient species adapted to the Mediterranean climate, which absorb large amounts of carbon and consume little water.
