Operation “Discovering Niçoise Culture by the U17s” of the Gym

Latest News

In the context of the “Open Football Club” program initiated by the LFP and aimed at residents of professional clubs’ training centers, the U17 team of OGC Nice spent an afternoon focused on the culture of Nice, alongside about twenty schoolchildren from the bilingual French-Niçard classes at the Orangers kindergarten in St Roch.

Supported by OGC Nice and the association promoting Niçoise culture “Parlen OCBI Countea,” the U17 team had the opportunity to discover or rediscover traditional Niçoise dances (rigaudon) and local nursery rhymes (“lou catoun”).

The children from the Orangers also introduced some basic elements of the Niçard language to our young players.

Finally, after singing a resounding “Nissa la Bella,” the afternoon concluded with typical Niçoise gastronomic dishes: pissaladières, petits farcis, chard pies, and bugnes.

The children will soon reunite with OGC Nice as they and their parents have been invited to attend the match on Friday, April 22, between Nice and Reims.
