Toselli Square at the corner of Lรฉpante Street and Notre-Dame for a journey to Rothschild School – Nice
A finding: over the past 25 years, the number of children accompanied to school by car has almost doubled.
This mode of transportation, although often convenient, is highly polluting, costly, and neither encourages parents nor children to engage in physical exercise!
Moreover, it causes numerous nuisances: noise pollution, air pollution, traffic jams, and road insecurity.
Since his election, Christian Estrosi, Deputy Mayor of Nice and President of Nice Cรดte d’Azur, has been promoting awareness among the population about using eco-friendly modes of transportation in the city, with the intention of making Nice and the entire urban community an exemplary territory in terms of sustainable development.
Municipal and community services have aimed to experiment with an ecological and economical school transport option in the town: PEDIBUS.
Thus, three routes have been set up in downtown Nice so that children attending Rothschild School can walk to their institution, supervised by volunteer parents: the Lรฉpante, Delille, and Cimiez lines.
