The Yellow Coins operation was launched in 1990 to bring a ray of sunshine to children and adolescents who have no choice but to stay in the hospital. Initiated by Bernadette Chirac, the Yellow Coins operation raised about 4.1 million euros last year. The goal: to improve the daily lives of patients or to fight against pain.
As part of this operation, the Nice Opera House is hosting the Nice Philharmonic Orchestra on February 4th under the direction of Frรฉdรฉric Lodรฉon. The instigator of this evening? Maurice Alberti, coordinator of the Yellow Coins operation and City Councilor.

On the program:

  • Rossini (27/02/1792 โ€“ 13/11/1868). Overture to Wilhelm Tell. At 12 years old, Rossini began his first sonatas for violins and by 15, he was transcribing the great arias of Mozart’s operas. Rossini had a musician’s soul from a very young age.
  • Schumann: Piano Concerto in A minor Opus 54. Soloist: Evelina Pitti. Evelina Pitti is world-renowned. She has already been a soloist for the Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra and has also performed musical pieces with the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra and others.
  • Beethoven: Symphony No. 7 in A major Opus 92

So come and have a good time to bring a smile back to the children. You can show your generosity. You can make donations in the newly redesigned piggy banks for the 21st edition of the Yellow Coins.
