The Prefecture announces that Météo France has issued an orange weather warning for “rain-floods” and “storms” today for the Alpes-Maritimes department, with the event starting at 4 PM.
On this Wednesday evening, rains over the Alpes-Maritimes will intensify and become stormy, with occasionally severe storms accompanied by hail, and snowfall above 1000 meters. These storms will move away during the middle of the night.
After a temporary lull in the second half of the night, the situation will quickly deteriorate again from late Wednesday night to Thursday. Throughout the day on Thursday and into the evening, strong stormy rains will affect a large part of the department.
