ORANGE FLAG LABEL: Confirmation of the 3rd star for the City of Nice in 2011

Latest News

Benoît Kandel, First Deputy Mayor in charge of Security, received the 3rd star of the Orange Pavilion label today in Paris.
This label rewards the Mayor of Nice’s commitment to undertaking concrete actions aimed at enhancing the safety and protection of the population of Nice against major risks.

The Orange Pavilion® is a label awarded by the French High Committee for Civil Defense (HCFDC) to municipalities that meet a certain number of criteria in terms of safeguarding and protecting populations against major risks and threats, and which have notably implemented a Municipal Safeguard Plan (PCS).

Obtaining the 3rd star once again follows improvements made to the Municipal Safeguard Plan of the City of Nice, as well as projects integrating new technologies into risk management.

Thus, in 2010, the following were carried out:

– Establishment of a civil and citizen communal reserve,
– Use of the new communal command post during several real crises,
– Raising awareness among schoolchildren about major risks,
– Participation in civil security exercises organized by the Prefecture of the Alpes-Maritimes in partnership with emergency services,
– Informing the population about major risks (DICRIM information document, safety instructions poster, brush clearance leaflet, website, etc.)
