This Tuesday, July 26, Météo France even lifted the orange heatwave alert in 8 French departments (Hautes-Alpes, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Alpes-Maritimes, Ardèche, Bouches-du-Rhône, Gard, Hérault, Var, Vaucluse, Haute-Corse, Corse-du-Sud). It had been in effect for 9 days.
The department is now placed under a yellow alert until Wednesday morning. The yellow alert may be extended, but for now, rain is expected in the coming days.
