PACA Region: Employment, Nothing but Employment

Latest News

With more than 470,000 unemployed people, representing an unemployment rate of 12%, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur is the third most affected region in France by unemployment. In 2015, the number of unemployed increased by 6%, even though more than 25,000 job offers remained unfilled.

The Paca region and Pôle Emploi have signed a partnership aimed at training people who cannot find work in the region, and they are numerous.

Objective: a return-to-work rate of 70%, “an example for all French regions” said jointly the General Director of Pôle emploi, Jean Bassères, and the President of the Region, Christian Estrosi.

Currently, and despite 260 million euros allocated by the Region to professional training, the return-to-work rate is 48%.

For the moment, there is a proliferation of collaboration agreements between local authorities and employers’ organizations.

As for the results, we are eagerly awaiting them!
