Debout La France and its departmental leader, Gaël Nofri (Municipal Councilor of Nice), presented their list for the Alpes-Maritimes in Chateauneuf de Grasse.
The choice of location was not made by chance since the first deputy of this commune, Emile Bezzone, is in third position on this list.
This was also an opportunity to elaborate on the central theme chosen for Debout La France in the regional elections in PACA: restoring good management.
Recalling that the commune of Chateauneuf is one of the few localities in the Alpes-Maritimes without a cent of debt and that Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, the President of DLF, had reduced his commune’s debt by 50%, Gaël Nofri invited voters to turn towards those who had succeeded rather than those who had failed.
The main object of criticism, the Socialist record in the PACA region: “18 years of ruin, waste, patronage, and ideology. They have quadrupled the debt and multiplied the number of local officials by five. Today, we cannot make the necessary investments because the operational budget represents more than two-thirds of the Region’s total budget, and Michel Vauzelle preferred to waste 70 million on the construction of a building named Villa Méditerranée.”
“We must remember that politics is not about promising jobs, subsidies, and excessive spending; it is first about managing a budget and setting priorities. We will adhere to our budget without any tax increases; we will reduce the number of employees to decrease the operational budget by 2.5% per year. As for priorities, they are clear: it’s security, the modernization and upgrading of regional express trains, support for SMEs, SMIs, artisans, and farmers. No austerity but healthy management and a different way to conceive politics.”
A different way of doing politics that also targets, in Gaël Nofri’s mind, the National Front list presented at the same time by Marion Maréchal Le Pen. “At a time when many are tempted by resignation and fed up, I want to warn: we will not bring down the system by voting for those whose only ambition is to gain the system for their benefit, for the benefit of a family and its networks.”
And to question: “In a list where we find both Olivier Bettati, who was a candidate a year ago in the Nice municipal elections with the local representative of the Radical Left Party of Madame Taubira to, as he said, block the extremes; but also the identity-driven, racist, and previously convicted Philippe Vardon, as well as Mr. Philippot, who was up until a week ago a happy running mate of Christian Estrosi… the only possible guiding principle is self-interest.”
