Before entering this political-comedy amusement park where “Mickey is played by a certain Nicolas”, Max, a singer-songwriter from the Azure region with pop rock musical colors, set the tone for the evening at 8:30 p.m.
After flipping through the calendar pages, here we are in 2012: Presidential election year in France! Exclusively, Sarkoland opens its doors. The master of ceremonies, Gérald Dahan, announces the official opening of the future amusement park, christened “SARKOLAND”, by revisiting a classic French song by Michel Sardou: “Les lacs du Connemara”. Rather daring phrases slip into the text. Surprises and laughter seize the audience! And it’s just the beginning!
Thanks to Gérald Dahan’s talent, the people of Contes saw a range of celebrities parading on the stage of the Paillon Valley:
– A Pascal Sevran allowing himself to criticize others: “Now that I’m no longer among you, I can say what I want!”
– A “Raphaël”, a “Calogero”, a “Benabar”, and a “Christope Willem” in a funnier version than as singers!
– A “Jean-Marie Bigard”, behind bars, “revealing the secrets of the Nicolas-Carla marriage” to the tunes of Brel and Aznavour…
“He imitates artists well. He is talented but can be annoying!” comments a young spectator. On top of that, roasting politicians is his thing! Even Francis (the mayor of Contes) won’t be spared!
We mustn’t forget we’re in Sarkoland! A 2012 vintage amusement park where the main actor is, of course, President Nicolas Sarkozy “who has a slight Charlie Chaplin side; moreover, he has the three essential qualities for portraying a comedic character: he’s small, excited, and in bad faith: so he accumulates…”. “The role of Tintin suits him very well too with his adventures, not forgetting Kouchner as Snowy,” continues Gérald Dahan.
The target of the evening: Nicolas Sarkozy from his political life to his private life: nothing is off-limits! “An exemplary imitation,” slips a spectator between two laughs: The intonation is there, the “gesticulating” movement too, the speech and the stature, not forgetting the podium and the dark glasses: “A Sarko more real than life, but at times, he exaggerates and accentuates his tics and quirks, that’s what makes him very funny!” comments a female spectator.
Talented is the sketch made with only words ending with “ion”: “Diminution – Cotisation – Augmentation – Contravention” or “Regulation – Immigration – Renewal – Expulsion – Question? … Resignation… Hallucination!!!” Dahan has ambition!
Ovation! When, under the Contes sky, Johnny Hallyday’s voice, more real than life, begins with the tune of “Quelque chose de Tennessee” a “Do you have something of Sarkozy? A small hidden nasty side” What voices!
Sarkoland in Contes? A free-flow amusement park of jokes created by Gérald Dahan which opened exclusively this Thursday evening!
During this evening, Gérard Dezordo, the president of the Contes festival committee, handed a check of €11,141.17 to the Antoine Lacassagne Center. The funds collected during the evening of February 23 for the fight against cancer will allow the purchase of six morphine pumps.
