Paralympic Games: no podium for Elodie Lorandi, only 5th in the 50m freestyle

Latest News

The only athlete from the Alpes-Maritimes region participating in the Rio Paralympic Games, Elodie Lorandi, did not achieve her triple: she did not win any medals in the 50m freestyle.

The competitor from Cannes finished 5th in a race dominated by the Canadian Rivard, ahead of the New Zealander Pascoe and the Chinese Chen.

Elodie Lorandi nevertheless achieved her personal best and also broke the French record with a time of 28″34, but it was not enough.

She still has two opportunities to expand her achievements: the reigning Paralympic champion in the 400m freestyle, Elodie Lorandi will defend her title in the 400m freestyle this Thursday, September 15th, and will aim for a medal in the 100m freestyle next Tuesday, September 13th.
