The last weekend will remain in the annals of Nice’s disabled sports.
After an excellent day during the first matches in Nice on January 27th, where the Aiglons finished in second place, the hardest part was yet to come: maintaining this lead and, why not, staying on the podium during the stage in Marseille.
The Aiglons, Bernard Berger, Cédric Bouchet, Gilles Brand, Mardochée Dor, and Sébastien Filippini, coached by Karolina Lazarewicz, played their game brilliantly to finish in 3rd place during the return matches and remain on the final podium with the bronze medal.
A third place decided by a hair, losing the silver medal on the number of goals scored.
Marseille and Nice finished with the same number of points (20) and the same goal difference (+28). The rules state that the best attack prevails over the two matches, and in this game, it is Marseille that wins, having scored 76 goals compared to our Aiglons’ 70.
A superb performance after a similarly prolific season, knowing that the Nice team have been playing in the elite torball league for only two seasons.
