Parasports: Torball in the Spotlight This Weekend in Nice

Latest News

In collaboration with UNADEV and ANTHV, the ANICES association (Association Niçoise d’Initiatives Culturelles et Sportives), a parasport club in Nice and the Alpes Maritimes department, is organizing the 1st International Nations Torball Tournament this Saturday and Sunday.

Torball is a ball sport with sound for visually impaired people and is open to sighted individuals. This very physical sport requires a well-developed sense of hearing, concentration, speed and agility, tactical sense, and a strong team spirit.

During this International Nations Tournament, the city of Nice will host men’s and women’s teams from all over the world for two days of intensive competition.

In addition to the French team, we will welcome the national teams from Germany, Belgium, Italy, Romania, and Switzerland, as well as the Poitiers club (N1 Champion), the women’s team Variété Torball Club, and the women’s team from Nice.

For the visually impaired, headsets will be available to listen to the audio description of the matches.

Entrance is free, and open to all.

President Sébastien Filippini is delighted on the eve of the competition and sends a message: “On this occasion, we invite people to come and discover our sport through videos and photos during this sports event that brings together disabled and able-bodied athletes!”
