Victim of its own success, the exhibition at Phoenix Park by Chinese sculptor LI Xiaochao is going to be extended until March 24, 2013. The artist is making a special trip to thank everyone who contributed to the success of this exhibition. The City of Nice wanted to pay tribute to this genius of sculpture who has done so much to make Chinese culture accessible to the people of Nice.


This ceremony, in the presence of numerous officials, will be rich in striking images particularly suited to the media format. In addition to the announcement of the extension of the exhibition, the artist is expected to announce his intention to donate a statue to the City of Nice, to acquire a workshop in the countryside around Nice, and to invite media outlets to visit his home province.

“Memory of Villages” is an exhibition of bronze sculptures representing characters from traditional Chinese villages from the 1950s to the 2000s: No fewer than 13 bronze characters ranging from one meter eighty to two meters in height will be spread out over 12 locations in the Park.
