The Paris 2024 Olympic Games Organizing Committee has officially designated the seven host cities where the football tournament events will take place.
In total, no fewer than seven cities, and thus seven stadiums, have been chosen by the COJO (Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games) Paris 2024: Bordeaux with its Matmut Atlantique, Lyon with the Groupama Stadium, Nice with the Allianz Riviera, Saint-Etienne with Geoffroy-Guichard, Nantes with La Beaujoire, Lille with the Pierre-Mauroy Stadium, and finally Marseille with the Vélodrome. The Parc des Princes located at Porte d’Auteuil in Paris is also on the list. The only city not selected by the committee is Toulouse, the pink city, and its Stadium, which will definitely not participate in the Olympics.
For Tony Estanguet, president of the Cojo Paris 2024, this decision resulted from a “selection process that took place over several months. It was about choosing cities that had a true sporting and football cultural heritage and expertise in major events.”
Christian Estrosi also reacted: “It is great news for our city and for our Allianz Riviera stadium. And it is also a source of great pride to be able to participate in just over four years in the remarkable momentum that the Olympic Games represent for a country and its youth.”
