Starting from Friday, the City of Nice will experience a cycling weekend with the arrival of the 74th edition of Paris-Nice.
Kazakh rider Alexei Lutsenko (Astana) won the 5th stage of Paris-Nice solo on Friday in Salon-de-Provence.
Australian Michael Matthews (Orica) retained the yellow jersey as leader with two days left in the race, on the eve of the summit finish at the Madone dโUtelle.
This Saturday, the penultimate stage, the hardest of the week, connects Nice to the Madone dโUtelle with seven climbs in the 177-kilometer route.
The finish is at an altitude after a 15.3-kilometer ascent (at 5.7%).
Sunday, 7th and final stage: Nice โ Nice, 141 km
On Saturday and Sunday, spectators can come in large numbers to cheer on the professional riders before they set off on the last two stages of Paris-Nice.
During these two days, a giant screen will allow spectators to follow the entire professional race within the village.
