The day after his victory in Biot and three days after raising his arms in Chiroubles, Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) secured a third stage win in this Paris-Nice by claiming victory at the summit of La Colmiane.
The Slovenian overtook Gino Mรคder fifty meters from the finish line. This new success allows the 2020 Vuelta winner to strengthen his yellow leader’s jersey on the eve of the finish in Levens. Maximilian Schachmann (Bora-Hansgrohe) completed the podium of this 7th stage.
Due to the lockdown in the Alpes-Maritimes, the 8th and final stage of Paris-Nice will be significantly altered compared to what was initially planned. The route has been almost entirely modified, and instead of taking the Peille climb, the Col d’รze, and finishing on the Promenade des Anglais, a less challenging course is being proposed to the riders.
On the agenda are only 92.7 kilometers between Le Plan-du Var and Levens, with a triple ascent of the Duranus hill (3.9km at 3.7%).
Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) is expected to win this Paris-Nice barring any accidents.
