The Paris-Nice cycling race will take place without spectators in the start and finish zones of stages, due to the new coronavirus-related measures, the organizers (ASO) announced on Monday.
The race is scheduled to finish on Sunday in Nice.
On Monday, Sports Minister Roxana Maracineanu, while advocating for “sporting continuity,” announced that during this period, “holding competitions and professional sports events behind closed doors may become our organizational doctrine.”
“Access restrictions for the public will be organized at the start and finish sites of the stages by setting up a protective zone 100 meters from the podium for starts and 300 meters for finishes,” ASO stated.
