The Slovenian from the Jumbo-Visma team won the 7th and penultimate stage of Paris-Nice on Saturday, securing his position at the top of the standings ahead of the final day’s challenge.
As in the previous year, Roglic triumphed in the only summit finish of the race, without attempting to widen the gaps. Winning for the first time this season, he extended his lead to 47 seconds over his runner-up, the Briton Simon Yates. The Colombian Daniel Martinez is one minute behind.
This Sunday, the “Race to the Sun” will conclude with the stage around Nice (a 156-kilometer loop) and the finish set against the magical backdrop of the Promenade des Anglais.
