Parking issues on the Carlone campus

Latest News

The student parking lot at the Faculty of Arts has been closed since June. The university has not yet resolved the situation. The student association UNI 06 has therefore called on the deputy mayors concerned regarding this issue.

In its letter addressed to the deputy mayors of Nice, Gaël Nofri (in charge of traffic) and Graig Monetti (in charge of youth), UNI 06 highlights the difficulties that already existed in parking at the Carlone campus. With the parking lot’s closure, these issues have intensified.

This parking lot does not belong to the city hall but to the Faculty of Arts. However, the student association wanted to take matters into their own hands after noticing no action towards reopening. They indicate that the parking issue also causes “traffic problems in the neighborhood”.

Students park illegally and receive tickets, sometimes in large numbers. Some can no longer find parking spaces near the campus and resort to nearby streets. As a result, requests have been filed in hopes that this situation will improve.

Firstly, UNI 06 is asking for free street parking in Magnan, on Boulevard Carlone, and Avenue de la Bornala.
Secondly, a “leniency in issued tickets” around the faculty would be appreciated.
Finally, the temporary opening of the Imperatrice Eugénie leisure center parking lot, which is located nearby, could relieve students.
