On the occasion of an exceptional afternoon, Patrick Vieira became the patron of the Adrien association that has been supporting the Gym since 2009.
“Bringing joy through sports, meals, or games to children and even to parents is the most important thing. It is with pride and honor that I commit to this mission.” With these words, Patrick Vieira explained his desire to become the patron of the Adrien association.
The Adrien association was created in 2005. Every month, the volunteers of the association visit Lenval and Archet 2 hospitals in Nice dressed as superheroes and princesses to bring happiness, color, and positive energy to all the children.
The association also regularly organizes outings and trips to boost children’s spirits and bring families out of isolation.
Its flagship project involves the creation of the Adrien house, a vacation center themed around superheroes to welcome sick children and their families throughout the year. An innovative project to allow families to escape, partake in activities within the house, and also meet athletes, singers, and artists.
To date, โฌ1,350,000 has been raised with the support of the PACA region and the Alpes-Maritimes department, of which โฌ429,000 has been used to purchase a 1066 square meter plot of land in Pรฉgomas. The rest of the amount will be used to fund the construction of the walls.
Since 2009, the Gym has been very active and supports this local association through numerous actions such as:
โ inviting the children supported by the association to trainings and privileged meetings with the players in a warm atmosphere.
โ inviting the families supported by the association to Allianz Riviera to experience the matches of the Aiglons and escape for the duration of a match.
โ visiting the children suffering in the Archet 2 and Lenval hospitals alongside the superheroes and princesses of the Adrien association.
โ supporting the Adrien house project.
An important connection that the Nice coach wanted to emphasize; “There is a unique connection between the city, its supporters, and the club here. It is important that I continue to represent and convey these values”.
