The Patronal Feast of Saint-Isidore, known as the “Market Gardeners’ Festival,” will take place as follows:

The inhabitants will pay tribute to their saint “Isidore,” a Spanish saint, patron of farmers who lived in the early 12th century. Of rural origin, he fled Madrid before the Almoravids and was distinguished by his pious and charitable spirit. Patron saint of Madrid, he is depicted in peasant attire, a spade in hand.
The Patronal Feast, which will run until Monday, August 8, 2011 inclusive, at Place Chanoine Musso, is organized by the Saint-Isidore Festivities Committee and the city of Nice.
Numerous activities will be offered to the public: serenades, boules and belote competitions, a ball, feast, raffle, games, and activities for children, as well as a show by Richard Cairaschi on Sunday, August 7, at 8 PM.
