This Saturday marked the inauguration of the washhouses of Peillon after their restoration. This was carried out by the Heritage Foundation and has been repeated on other historically significant elements of the village.
As part of preserving its heritage, the municipality of Peillon launched a restoration campaign for the village in 2013. It successfully concluded this weekend with the unveiling of two washhouses during the Saint-Sauveur patronal festival.
These renovations were made possible thanks to numerous donations totaling 38,000 euros, ensuring the future of these basins. Several parts of the village have also been restored, such as the fountain in Auguste Arnulf Square or the “calade,” a small pedestrian route beloved by the residents.
